On a walk on NC 80: a bobcat in the middle of the road, immature, I think, chased by Lucille after we got a good look at it up in the big pine in the bend of the road where the Xmas tree farm is. Lucille overtook cat in field near top of the hill; cat turned to confront her and apparently swatted her in the nose because she yipped and turned tail. Amazing and wonderful sight!

Found about 6 cecropia cocoons clustered at the bottom of the small apple tree in the yard!!! Joyous occasion, as P– and I had thought all of the caterpillars we set out there had died.
